Cells with distinctive margins, pink granular cytoplasm, prominent nucleoli

Apocrine markers

GCDFP-15 positive, AR positive

Receptor profile

ER negative, AR positive, Her2neu positive in 1/3 cases

Cytogenetic characteristics

Gains of 1q, 2q, 1p, 7, and 17 gains, 1p, 22q, 17q, 12q, and 16q loss.

TP53 and PIK3CA / PTEN / AKT genes
